With more than 20+ years in roofing & construction, David learned the industry from the ground up but saw a missing piece, customer care. At that moment, he sold his prized possession, his Audi A5 so that he could re-engineering the Roofing experience, Since then, A5 has become an industry leader and David has become a recognized industry expert, with public speaking appearances, booming social platforms, and relationships across the US. Roofing systems can be made with many different types of materials; the most common include asphalt shingles, metal/ steel panels, clay or concrete tile, and even repurposed rubberized shingle products. Each material has a different “expected age of life” and they can vary between 15 to 45 years. Most asphalt shingle roofing systems should last between 12-15 years in normal Texas weather conditions. Most metal roofing systems can last up to 25-30 years in normal Texas weather conditions.

Depending on the type of roofing system installed, and the design of the roof architecture, roofing installations can vary between $4.50 per ft2 and $12.00 per ft2 of the roof’s surface area. Most roofing warranties are going to come in two forms- the Manufacturer’s Material Warranty, and the actual Roofing Contractor’s Labor and Installation Warranty. Many roofing system manufacturers offer specialized certifications to roofing contractors, which allow those contractors to then offer Texas Homeowners with higher levels of Material and Labor Warranties. Manufacturer Material Warranties only cover issues with the actual building materials, and that arise because of the manufacturing process. These warranties typically last about 15-30 years, and most asphalt shingle manufacturer warranties lose 50% of their coverage value at 10 years of age. Labor and Installation Warranties offered by contractors cover the actual installation and workmanship performed on the project and will include coverages for issues that arise from the actual work performed. The length of these workmanship warranties can vary between 5-10 years depending on the individual Contractor, while Manufacturer Certified Contractors can have the ability to offer Extended Labor Warranties that range between 20 to 30 years in some cases.
